I made this card very quickly tonight. Thank goodness for Doodlebug's cards - they make cardmaking a cinch when you're in a pinch! Combine the card with the Doodlepops and you have a cute card in a snap! I was going to make today a "project day" but somehow that did not happen! Too much to do now that the weather has warmed and the garden is waiting.
To make this card I cut a square of dotted orange paper from the Halloween collection and used Spellbinders to make a square cutout in the middle of that. I used pop dots to adhere it to the front of the card. I used a butterfly Doodlepop in the card window. I added some black wire to make the antennae. I used two butterfly stickers from the Hello Spring Collection. And brand new from Doodlebug are the alphabet stickers that I used for Hello. I used a black Sharpie to make the dashes.
Sadly, I am off to a funeral so I will be away from my blog for the remainder of this week. Enjoy the week and check back next week for a scraproom update!!! I am almost done rennos......

Summer Fun and A Pool Surprise!
I was flipping through some of my old scrapbooking magazines and came across a cute sketch I wanted to try. My husband is such a good sport and often does some pretty cute and funny things, especially with our nieces and nephews. They are still small and can fit into this jumbo pail but my husband is obviously too big!
I used Echo Park Paper from last summer to make this layout. I used a journalling tag from Bella Blvd's Sunshine & Happiness. The title was from Echo Park as well.
I cut strips of paper with different patterns in different sizes. I also used some border stickers and I even used Doodlebug...can you spot it? I used the new pearl bling from Doodlebug and the Paper Frills in red and purple. Gotta have some Doodlebug!!!!
We also had some visitors to our pool on Tuesday night. I live in a city and this is a pretty peculiar sight. It is not everyday that ducks come by to swim in a pool!!! They stayed for quite awhile and there was much excitment in the house as Tao watched them walk around on the deck and then hop into the pool for a swim and a snack! (There are water beetles in our pool so thanks to those ducks for cleaning them out!) Our pool is not up and running yet so there is no chlorine in there, thankfully for the ducks. You just never know when nature will come calling!!!
I tried to get Tao's head in the picture because she was just going nuts watching these guys march around in her backyard!

Another quick card
I am not sure about the banners on this card but I liked the idea of it. My assembly was wonky perhaps. I used some Bella Blvd. products from the new baby lines. I cut out the turtle from one of the girl papers which I thought was cute! Oh well, it was fun to create and that is what it is all about!
"Sew Cute" Doodlebug Card
Happy National Scrapbooking Day( for Saturday)!!! How cool is it that our favorite hobby is recognized with a National Day!! Hopefully you all got something crafty done at some point this weekend. The blogs were abuzz with tips, tricks, ideas, and contests!!! Loved the Bella Blog with views of everyone's scrap rooms- check it out if you need ideas for your own crafty space. As well, Scrapbook & Cards Today had posts every hour all day and posted a number of challenges. I cannot wait to enter! And hopefully win :)
So here is a cute card I just made using older Doodlebug product. I have been in Sunshine & Happiness land for so long, I decided it was time to go back to my #1 love. I made the goal to start using my scrap stuff and I am so proud of how much I have accomplished. Sometimes I just buy product because it is pretty or made by my favorite company, even if I have no pictures related to the paper theme. For example- sewing. I have no pictures of sewing and had no idea if I was going to use this line but look! I found a way to make it work for me!
Here is the inside of the card. I finished the greeting using the same Doodlebug letter stickers. I could have printed it on the printer but I liked the matching size and colour.
Here is a close up of the Cute Cut I used. I added a flower sticker with a pop dot on top of the matching flower underneath. I added clear bling to the flower centers. I used pin stickers and thread braddies as well. Along the side of the card I added 2 colours of Doodle Twine.
Happy Creating!!

"Jump For Joy" Sketch Challenge
Can you tell which line I am REALLY loving right now??? Yep, I made another layout using Bella Blvd's Happiness & Sunshine line. I followed a Page Map by Becky Fleck for a sketch challenge posted on her blog. We went to Jamaica for spring break and it was a perfect getaway! A whole week of sun, sand, and scuba diving!!!
I was reading some old issues of Scrapbook & Cards Today and found an article by Kelly Goree about mixing patterned papers together. I tried to follow her suggestions on this layout, using a bold pattern with more subtle ones. I have to say I am proud of myself for going beyond the usual cardstock background and matting. It is so fun to play around and learn new tricks!
I have to say that I could definitely use a little vacation these days. I am so excited for summer- I LOVE camping and going to the beach or just lazing by the pool. BBQ-ing and having get togethers are such fun summer things too! And I can't forget gardening! I think that is why this line makes me feel so creative- memories of all those fun summer things!
