Doodlebug Halloween Rolling Card

Here is my scrap work space. I tried to take some pictures as I made this card.

I used this punch from Stampin' Up. I also used the Doodlebug line: Spooky for this card.

I used a Doodlepop and attached a penny to the sticky side. Then I dusted it with baby powder. I added a circle pop dot to the penny and then put it through my paper. Finally, I put another penny on top of the pop dot. This keeps my monster in the punched oval space.

This is the front view. So my little purple monster will now roll side to side on this card.

I added pop dots to the back of the blue paper and adhered it to the purple paper.

                                                             Here he is spinning!

I added Doodle bling to the confetti that was already on the cut out. I also stickled around the scalloped edge.
Another fun card using  SUPER CUTE Doodlebug!!!!!!

Happy Bird- Day!!!

I need another birthday card for August and I put together this cute card using my Cricut and the cartridge Straight From The Nest. I used Bazzill cardstock for the bird and the branch. The background paper is from Bella Blvd.'s  Sunshine & Happiness. To make the clouds I cut them out of American Crafts: Hello Sunshine paper. I added a Doodlebug balloon sticker and twine and pop dotted it to make it look like the bird is holding it! I added stickles and a Doodlebug bling to the top of the party hat.

Sun Kissed

I have had a great day creating! It was cloudy today and a bit rainy which has not happened since way back in early June!!! Our temperatures have been soaring and combined with the humidity, it has been like a tropical getaway! Can't complain though- fall is around the corner so we must soak up that sun every chance we get!

So I decided to pull out a Bo Bunny line that is HANDS DOWN my favorite line of theirs. It is called Sun Kissed and it came out a number of years ago. I was foolish back then and did not buy all of the coordinating embellishments but I still managed to put this layout together using all Bo Bunny product.
I used my EK Success binder punch on this strip of paper under the photo. I used black ink and a lid from one of my button jars to make the rings on the yellow circle. I added a button to the sun that I cut out of one of the papers.

I used a Chevron punch by EK Success to make the strip at the top. I pop dotted the sticker that came with this collection. I matted the photo on black paper and I think this really helped to bring focus to the picture. As I learned at Crop & Create: always use a little black on your layout!

Here is to another month of blue skies- hopefully!!!!

Mini Album

I made this whole album by hand- crazy right! Well, crazy because they come already made and the process here was not the easiest! I used poster board and cut it in long strips. I then scored it in three to make one page. Then I glued three of the long strips together to make an album that folds out. I made it awhile ago otherwise I would have showed the process here. I just added pictures and a few rub-ons so that I could share a project I have not shown before. I do actually create a number of mini albums but never put pictures in them. I decided I needed to change that!

In my X-L stash of scrap stuff I have lots of random embellishments that I have lumped together- like pieces of ribbon and paper flowers or even buttons so it is hard to say which company it came from. My staples are buttons, ribbons, bling, stickles, and rub-ons or stickers. This album is kind of a mish-mosh of all of that stuff!

I used Doodlebug letter stickers and borders on many of the pages. The quotes are from KaiserKraft.

The paper is from Doodlebug, DaisyBucket, and Bazzill. I am a bright colour person. I find it difficult to use "vintage" like papers since my photos are not old and often have vibrant colours in them.

On the outer page here in orange and yellow I made it into another flap that lifts up (seen below).

My husband and I have had so many adventures. I can honestly say our life is not dull! These pictures are a few highlights of our special times.

On the green side of this page I made a pocket and a large tag that pulls out to show the picture.

So I did not really go over the top and use a ton of product to jazz it up. I actually did not want a whole lot of bulk since it does not have a flexible spine. It is just a cute, quick little album to have that captures some highlights of life!

And the backside of this album was just a few of the leftover strips.

PageMaps contest layout: "Splash"

I used the summer line "Splash" by Little Yellow Bicycle for this layout. I used the sketch from Becky's Blog to create this. My husband and I had a water gun fight around our pool- we are totally kids at heart!

I used an EK Success border punch on the navy blue paper down th middle of the page.
I used a few tear out tickets from this line as well. I learned how to incorporate embellishments like this at Crop & Create- thanks to Vicki Boutin!

The Clear Cut Shapes from this line are so adorable. Some have glitter and some are just colourful on their own! There are also chipboard shapes for this line which are also adorable.

Here is Becky's Sketch that I used to create this layout. Using a sketch is such a great jumping off point to begin a layout. Using them has helped me broaden my creativity levels since I think I used to get stuck in the same layout style.

Bella Blvd. Baby Girl Layout

I found some inspiration on Bella Blvd.'s website for this layout. I used the Baby Girl line instead of the new birthday line that was used in the layout on the website. The paper is all Bella Blvd. except for the white Bazzill cardstock which I used for the main background paper. The blue border is from the Baby Boy sticker sheet. My buttons are random buttons that I have collected, as are the paper flowers. I used some Ciao Chipboard elements in the arch on the left side of the page. I stickled the butterfly to give it some sparkle!

The letter stickers were also from the Baby Girl line which makes coordinating elements so easy with Bella products!

I used a rub-on from KaiserKraft and put it right on the picture.

Here is a closer look at the embellishments- a mixture of flowers, buttons, and chipboard!

Sweet Summer Card

Watermelon is one of my favorite summer treats! I decided to use my Cricut and the cartridge "Simply Charmed" to make this cute card. I cut the watermelon at 4' and adhered it to a folded piece of white cardstock. I then cut around the watermelon shape to get the card. The rub-on is from K.I. and I added black buttons to look like seeds. Looks good enough to eat!

Bella Blvd. Inspiration

I am not trying to rush into fall but after viewing the sneak peaks on Bella Blvd.'s blog I was inspired by the new fall collection. Make sure you check out the 3 new lines on their blog because they are SOOOOO cute!

This collection is from last year and it is called "Finally Fall". Bella certainly makes it easy to stick with one line since they have all the embellishments to match the paper line. Other than the twine, Doodlebug brads, and Bazzill cardstock the whole layout was from the same line.

I have not added my journaling yet, mainly because I don't like my printing so I am going to wait until I am having a good printing day! Hard to see here but I added some red stickles to the hearts in the journaling sticker on the side. I also pop dotted the 2 pumpkin stickers. I used a border punch on the top of the red paper. Another great thing that most companies do now is make the paper double sided with a coordinating colour or design. Hard to believe that this was not always the case!

Now it is time to hit the deck with a cold drink and enjoy some sun!!!

Birthday Cards

My nephew will be one years old at the end of July so I made this cute card using my Circut machine and the cartridge Birthday Bash. I used some Doodlebug paper and some Bazzill cardstock. I used stickles on the phrase to highlight it.

This card was pretty easy to make. I was flipping through the new Card Creations magazine and saw a card that used black and white in this simple fashion. I did change it up a bit by adding a flower sticker instead of a bow. I pop dotted the sticker as well to add dimension. I added a tiny clear bling to the flower in the Cute Cut which is hard to see in this picture. Can you see my ribbon mistake? Ok, so I am definitely not perfect and I forgot to cut the card so the ribbon went all the way to the end after I made the mistake of cutting my ribbon too short for the card! I will do that before I give it to someone though. I have been told there are no mistakes in scrapping- only opportunities to be creative!!!! So next time you make a mistake, don't worry too much- just look for a way to make it a creative opportunity! :)

This is my cat Taz and he is a ball of mischief! He likes to play, especially when the other cats do not want to join in. It has been so hot outside that he does not even come to the door. He likes to stay cool in the air conditioning I guess and who can blame him!!!! It is smoking hot here!

Doodlebug Inspiration

So after finally receiving my Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine I found a little inspiration in an ad for Doodlebug. The new Fancy Frills and Teensy Type stickers are SO cute and colourful!  The ad is below and I copied the idea of using the border strips to make a card. I also added Doodle bling in various spots on the card. One of the best things about Doodlebug is the bright, happy colours!
