Great Outdoors Layout

This is a pretty simple layout made using a variety of camping lines. I used Imaginisce, Echo park, and Simple Stories. Usually I would find a paper like the background one here quite difficult to use but it really seemed to work with this picture of us in the bush. My husband and I have always loved camping and hiking. It has been a huge part of our lives together. I am so excited that we can now share our love of the outdoors with our son and enjoy this beautiful province as a family. I am so excited for summer........or at least weather that is not dangerously cold!

My cat Tao loves to be in my son's crib. I have to shoo her out of there so many times everyday. She was catching some sun yesturday and I could not resist taking a picture......
Little stinker!!!!!

                                                                    Happy Friday!!!!

Kitty Cat Layout

Have you ever seen a cat lay like this? My cat Taz is just so goofy! He was lying on his belly with his legs stretched over the railing of our deck. Too wierd! I took lots of pictures because I thought it was so funny. He is kind of a fat cat to boot, so it was even funnier because I am not sure how he was not squishing his big belly!!!!

I used a variety of products- Doodlebug, Bella, Imaginisce, and kraft paper. I added sprinkles and rub-ons that, to me, are just so cute. Love the fish bones!

I wish, wish, wish more companies would come out with cat products.....hint, hint Doodlebug! The last time they came out with a cat line was 2007.....feels like forever ago!

My Little Charmer

My son discovered his feet at about 25 weeks old and this picture is just so perfect to document that phase of his development. He is a little charmer- he loves attention and he receives many, many compliments when we are out and about. He has very blue eyes and a very charming smile! Of course I am biased since I love him to bits!

I used the Rough & Tumble line from Carta Bella to create this page. The letter stickers and the captured sticker are Bella Blvd. I even braved my own printing!

I am so pleased at my progress on making something everyday. At this rate I might actually finish an album for my son before his 1st birthday- woot woot!!!!

Grateful For You

I am madly in love with this collection from Doodlebug (Happy Harvest). I took plenty of fall pictures of my son and this collection just brings out the feeling of fall that I love so much. I love hiking in the fall and seeing all the leaves change colour. It is my favorite time of year for sure!
Sure wish it was a day like this picture right now and not the -40 we are suffering through once again......I am not enjoying being stuck in the house due to extreme windchills. Oh well, it means craft time!

I used all Doodlebug products from this line including stickers, pixies (without the stick), doodads, doodle seals, and paper.

I think the leaf stickers are SOOOO cute. I need to come up with an idea to use the tree that is on the sticker sheet because it is so cute. So is the turkey......Hmmmmm, something to work on!

So Happy Together!

Are you starting to feel that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes with the arrival of February-the month of love? Something has to keep us warm in this place.....SOOOOOO cold again! I made this layout for my sweetie. I just love our silly pictures!

I used all Doodlebug products including washi tape, sprinkles, stickers, fancy frills, and paper!
I am loving the enamel dot craze! I will admit they are a whole lot easier to use than eyelets!

Stay tuned for more cards this week and another fall layout with Doodlebug!!!

Bundle of Joy Layout

I am slowly working on an album for my son to cherish when he is older. This layout is us as a new family getting ready to leave the hospital. Looking at him now it is hard to believe he was so small. He slept so much in the hospital and then when we got home that all changed pretty quick!

The background paper is Fancy Pants from Baby of Mine and the embellishments and star paper are from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy.

At the top and bottom of the page I layered border stickers and stars. I used a border punch on the yellow cardstock below. I am just loving using up my stash of goodies. I am trying to make something everyday now, as long as my little peanut sleeps long enough to get something done!

                                                            Have a great weekend!!!

Rough & Tumble Mini Album

I made this cute mini album using the line Rough & Tumble by Carta Bella. I finished the cover and the base of the album but I have not added photos or embellished yet. I thought I would post it anyway since it might inspire somebody out there! I have not used my Zutter forever and I had to read the directions because I completely forgot how to bind!!!!

I really like how most companies are making a page of inserts/ quotes in different sizes. They are so versatile! I used many of the tags to add mini pages to the album.

Now, hopefully one day I will get the pictures in there and finish it off.......

Turkey Day and a Card

I really liked this line from Basic Grey called Plumeria. I love the colour purple so that may have something to do with it! I am still on my mission to use old supplies so I can proudly say that I am actually sticking to it! I added bling to the holes in this chipboard border and they fit right in which I think looks pretty. I added stickles to the postage chipboards too but it does not show in this picture.

I used a mix of Finally Fall and Thankful from Bella Blvd. for this layout. Fall is my favorite season. It is snowing right now, yet again! January is that kind of month- cold and snowy.

How cute is this turkey?? I pop-dotted him. I used a binder border punch on the green paper.

I decided to try my handwriting to see if I like it better than my printing and I think it does look better. I usually avoid using my own print in journaling. This tag pulls out to reveal what I am thankful for. Back to the scraproom to see what I can get into today!!!

Oh Darling....

I think I am getting better at putting together layouts....just made this one in less than an hour! Mind you, it helps when you have an idea fresh in your head and you have a line that has everything you need to complete a page! This is Echo Park and other than using a few circle punches, I just embellished with the stickers and a pen for some faux stitching.

I also happen to love this picture of my husband which was taken last year. He is truly my soul mate. We have been thru the best and worst of this crazy thing called "Life". We are making our way on this new journey of parenthood and what a ride! We always wondered how we would do it since we are two people who need our sleep but some how you get it done!

I have always loved his laid back attitude and his silly sense of humor! That is why he is "fun uncle" and I am sure he will be "fun dad".

This next layout was made with a white background, although for some reason it looks blue in this picture...wierd! The polka dot paper was Pebbles Basics and the rest is Bella Blvd. I played with this layout for 2 days so maybe my comment above should be revised...sometimes it is easy to put a layout together and sometimes inspiration comes a little slower! :)
Have a crafty day!

Doodlebug Valentine Cards

I wish I had the new Doodlebug Valentine line but not yet.....so I used the old stuff to make my sweeties some cards! I was going to add white stitching to the card below and of course, my pen is not working! It is not even February and I am already thinking Valentine's.....only because I love what I have seen from Doodlebug and Jillibean Soup!!! Here is to wonderful new products coming out in Feb.!!! Can't wait!

Goodbye to a Dear Scrapping Friend

The end of 2013 was actually marked by two deaths in my life. My friend Carole passed away and a family member passed away, both right at Christmas. I wanted to acknowledge how much Carole meant to me with a layout in her honour. She was a scrapbooking friend and I will think of her everytime I go to the store where we first met. She will be greatly missed.

I used a mixture of older Doodlebug products on this layout. The woodgrain paper is from Flower Box and the scalloped paper is from Ladybug Garden. The sentiment is a rub-on from Doodlebug, as are the embellishments.

This tag pulls out to reveal some journaling.

On the back I typed out my thoughts about our friendship and made it into a pocket to store the card from the funeral.

I made a layout of my son using paper from an old line called Jolly By Golly by Cosmo Cricket. I still really like this line- one of the best from them in my opinion!

This picture reveals a tag that I added a rub-on to. My love for rub-ons will never go away! If vellum can make a comeback then I can hope rub-ons will too!

I also added a rub-on to the picture in a space that was blank, or not part of the focal point of the picture. It is all Cosmo Cricket except the sprinkles, which are Doodlebug. I should mention that I added fake snow to the tree which added some dimension and I added stickles to the gift. The bird and snowman head are pop-dotted, all hard to see in the photos.

Ok, this one is just for fun. We had my son Baptized on Sunday and we ordered a cake to serve. Guess we should have checked it before taking it home......can you spot the error? I am a teacher and this just makes me cringe- what happened to spelling skills!!!!!! Maybe this is one for Ellen!

Doodlebug Thank You Cards

My Grandma gave me a very touching Christmas gift so I wanted to send her a "Thank You" note to brighten her day. I made two cards that are basically the same but using different flowers. The paper is from Flower Box by Doodlebug and I layered the mini flowers from this same line using popdots. I also added a jewel to the centers. I also pop-dotted the sentiment sticker. Pretty simple and perfect for my Grandma!

Happy 2014!!!!

I am back from a crazy busy Christmas! Between dinners and shopping and all the Christmas stuff, I had no time to do anything creative.......until this weekend that is. I am going back in time today to show you Halloween and Fall Doodlebug layouts! Better late than never! My son was a little green monster for Halloween and even though he is too young for candy we still went to a few houses to say Happy Halloween!

I used all Doodlebug products, including washi tape, pixies, This & That stickers and paper, of course!

My next layout was also strictly Doodlebug products from the fall line. I used sprinkles, doodlepops, stickers, fancy frills, and This & That stickers. I love this picture! My son puts EVERYTHING in his mouth so he is really getting a taste for his world! I miss being able to walk in the park- it is -30 and more with a windchill here. Can you say BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

                                                           Some close up views!

Check out the Doodlebug website for their CHA reveals- SOOOOOO cute! I cannot wait!
Hope 2014 is a very crafty year with lots of happiness for all!
