Doodlebug Birthday Layouts

I think I am all caught up from my backlog of creations from back when my computer stole all my pictures via a viral scam. I am back today with two layouts using the new Doodlebug borthday lines called Hip Hip Hooray and Sugar Shoppe. They are just soooooo cute! This first layout is of my husband and I when we turned the big 3-0!! I look at myself from then and think now, I wish I looked like that but back then I was wishing I looked like I did when I was 26.......I guess that is a life lesson- enjoy your youth when you have it because you will always look back and think "hey, I did not look that bad after all!!"
I used sprinkles, washi tape, arrow sprinkles, a pixie flag, and patterned paper from the line Hip Hip Horray.
This layout was inspired by the one I made at Crop & Create in Kelly Goree's class. The sketch was one from Becky Fleck. I changed it by adding banners all over the page. I love the way it turned out! I am actually pretty happy I bought the garland since it saves me the trouble of punching circles and sewing my own. That is handy since I do not have all day to scrap!

I used sprinkles, a pixie flag, garland, and patterned paper for this layout. Notice the white faux stitching down the middle- kind of cute I think!

Christmas Cuties!

I made this layout using KaiserKraft paper. The colours matched my son's outfit perfectly!
I am going to frame this layout for my grandfather and give it to him since he just had a major surgery.
I have seen this trend of messy date stamping and since it happened without trying to do it, I went with it! Something different for me.....but this way I can claim it was not a mistake, I meant to!!!

I used Basic grey letters and a Bella sticker here. Love the Doodlebug sprinkles!

This layout is all Bella Blvd. Christmas paper. I copied a design that I posted earlier but rearranged things a bit to make it my own. I am giving this layout to my sister for her much belated birthday gift. I need to find a frame for it yet. I love this picture of them under the tree on Christmas day.

I did use Doodlebug sprinkles and twine on the banner. I simply cut circles out of the ball paper and folded them in half over the twine to make the banner.
Back tomorrow with birthday fun!

Crop & Create Layouts

I took two classes with Kelly Goree at Crop & Create Winnipeg at the beginning of April and these are just three of the six layouts I made. She designed the layouts, I just followed the directions and added pictures. I think she used sketches by Becky Fleck. I won't write much here since I don't know what the products were exactly. Thanks Kelly for so much inspiration!!!!

Doodlebug Fun Again!!!

I just adore this line! It is Doodlebug's Hip Hip Hooray. The monsters are just so cute! I used sprinkles and I pop dotted the balloon. I used a binder punch on the grid paper and the triangle strip is actually washi tape.

I posted a card very similar to this one yesturday. This was my original card and I recreated it a couple of times. I folded the washi tape over on itself to get the ruffle look.

I made this cute card for my son for Easter. I used the spring line from Doodlebug. I used Martha Stewart scissors for the grass. How cute is that bunny!!!

Up next, I have four Father's Day cards that all use the bow ties from Doodlebug. They are just slightly different variations from each other. The line is called

Doodlebug Fun!

Here is a birthday card made with Doodlebug's new line called Hip Hip Hooray. I pop dotted the balloon and added twine.

For this card I folded washi tape over on itself to get the frilly look. I cut the sentiment out of one of the ticket stubs and added it with pop dots. I love the monsters in this line- so cute!!!

I copied the card above but I used Doodlebug's new line Sugar Shoppe for this one. I gave this one to my sister for her birthday but she said turning 35 was not fun.......I added some stickles to the cake and I pop dotted that sticker as well.

Here is a card made with Jillibean Soup's Birthday Bisque. Those wood sprinkles are actually pretty cute. I pop dotted the balloon and the banner as well.

This layout has a bit of Jillibean thrown in but is mostly Doodlebug's Sugar Shoppe. This is my cat Taz. I thought his little pink nose was perfect with this paper! Again I used those wood sprinkles which are a nice change from the enamel dots.

Happy Easter Monday! Still trying to catch up my blog so I will back tomorrow with Father's Day cards! Yes, I am thinking ahead!

Spring Cards

I thought my computer was back in action but I am having trouble doing my blog. Technology......I despise you!!!! When it works, it can be great. When it steals pictures and causes so much grief: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

First up is a little treat container with a handmade tag. I used Doodlebug's spring line, which is sobright and cheery. I used this line on all the cards below. I also used a Jillibean Soup label on this tag.

I pop dotted those punched out butterflies, which I got from patterned paper.

Since this is my second time doing this blog entry I am keeping things brief.....soooooo annoyed today! I added brads to the flag, stickles to the flower and I pop dotted the stickers.

I copied this card from a Doodlebug ad in Scrapbook & Cards Today but made some changes of my own. The clipboard was paper from the Take Note line. The owl and pencil are mini doodlepops.

Last up, here is a Mother's Day Card using Doodlebug and a die cut from We R memory Keepers. The flowers were pop dotted .

Back tomorrow with more catching up- that is if my computer allows it.........GRRRRRR.

I am Back!!!! Woot Woot!!!

My computer is back in action and thankfully I only lost a few pictures. Lesson learned: Backup!!!!
I have a TON of projects to share since I have been on here last but for today I am only showing four layouts that I have made since my computer went wonky!

First up, this layout was made with Fancy Pants' Timber Grove. I loft the soft colour palette of this line, although it does have some deep colours too.

This layout was made with Bella Blvd's Lucky Starz. I kept the layout quite simple with minimal layers. I really like this look since the focus is on the cutie in the picture!!!

Adding pop dots to some of the embellishments adds dimension. I also added faux stitching using a Sharpie marker.
This layout is made with Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine.......I could use some warm summer sun about now. Man oh man, it is freezing cold here- still!!! Where is spring???? I think Mother Nature forgot us this year.......

I added some ink to the base page and again, my embellishments were pretty limited so the focus is on the picture. The stars are chipboard.

My final layout today was made with Doodlebug's Home for the Holidays. If you love Starbucks coffee then you probably recognize the red cup for their Christmas bevies. I am an eggnog late lover!!! My son just loves paper so he enjoyed playing with the cup. So cute!!

I adore those sprinkles. I used twine, stickers, and fancy frills too. That snowflake paper is glittered so up close it really looks snazzy!

It feels like winter here so I have been in the winter mood but I do have some Easter and spring projects to share. I just hope it actually starts to feel like spring soon so I can take some pictures and make layouts using spring paper! I cannot believe it will be Easter this weekend and we have piles of snow. It just does not fit........
