Caught Between Seasons!

Hello again! I am starting off the week slow at posting again. I have a Christmas card to share and a summer layout. Above is a card I made using Doodlebug goodness. I used Memory Box dies to make the snowflakes from glitter cardstock. I added bling to the centers. I really like how this card turned out and it might be one of my seasonal cards too. Sometimes I give different cards to different family members. Since this one was pretty easy to make I might replicate it in bulk. I also make ornaments and I am not sure what this year's special one will be. I am getting ahead of myself since it is only Halloween this weekend.....we still have like 8 or 9 weeks until Christmas!!!!

I made this layout of my son playing at the park this summer. I have wanted to use Bella's Toddler line since I bought it but have not had the inspiration. I was determined yesturday to make it work! I did not add the journaling yet but I am happy with it so far.

When I look back to this time last year it is phenomenal to see how much he has grown. He is a little man now; he is so cute and so smart!!! He is super busy and loves to be outside. Well except when it is snowing!

Okay, time to get back to work in my scraproom! Stay tuned for my Halloween fun after this weekend! Mummies and a swamp monster..........spooooooooky!

Joy Christmas Card

So I think I have my yearly Christmas card!!!! I made the one below first and I liked it but it needed something to make it more vibrant. I made the card on top second, adding red paper to give a border and now I think I have my card for sending to family. The card below has pearls but for sending to people I will add stickle berries like the one above. Not sure what I am going to do for the sentiment. Below I stamped it and above I used a sticker. To make the snow I used a snow writer that I purchased at Michaels. I used Memory Box dies to cut the pine branch and the pine cones. I got the card idea from the Memory Box blog but I used a different pine branch die.

I was having fun outside taking pictures of balloons. Just thought I would share this happy photo.....
It is almost Halloween and it is miraculously still warm. Some years we have snow by now. So this photo is definitely a rare one for this time of year!!!!!

Christmas card

I have been away on a little get-away hence my absence on the blog.....but I am back now and hopefully will have some more projects to share this week! I only have a card to share today. I used Doodlebug Christmas paper, fancy frills, twine, clothespins, and tags to make this card. Halloween is around the corner and I feel a time crunch coming as I want to make my son's costume this year. So much fun to create but so little time!!!

60th Birthday

My mom turned 60 this past weekend. I made her a card using Doodlebug's Sugar Shoppe line. I also made this centerpiece with 60 suckers and Bella Blvd. paper. I covered a floral foam with the paper and added some washi tape and some letter stickers. I added some tinsel on top to give it some punch.
It says 60 sucks on both sides. A cute craft that can be modified and used for any age.

I want to give a birthday shout out to my mom because she is amazing! She has done so much to help me since I gave birth to my son. She is the best grandma, always willing to babysit and spoil him with goodies. She buys him clothes and books, which I cannot do because I am not working. I know she is a true grandma at heart because she keeps goldfish and snacks in her purse so my son can find them! We had a well deserved day at the spa, a nice dinner, and a wonderful brunch in her honor. Happy 60th Birthday Mom!!!
It was Thanksgiving this past weekend as well. We had plenty of dinners and family visits. We were blessed to have warm, sunny weather. That also meant we could take plenty of pictures outside!
Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!

Let it Snow!

I know I say this all the time but how cute is this Doodlebug!!!!??? I always adore Doodlebug stuff but this winter line just takes the cake!!! Gorgeous colours and super cute snowmen.......who can resist! The new sparkly sprinkles are so pretty and I used them on this page too.

The background snowflake paper is grey but it looks a little brown in the pictures for some reason. I used Doodlebug cardstock too, to match my son's snowsuit.

I punched some circles from the glittered snowflake paper and I added some mini snowflake Doodlepops as well. So totally cute!!!

Halloween Fun!

I am starting my post today with a Halloween layout that I made using Doodlebug and a paper piece from Bella Blvd. I used cheesecloth to mimic cobwebs for the spiders. I think I am going to add two more spiders on the bottom to give more detail.
I like to be crafty outside of cards and layouts too so I am going to share two of my recent Halloween creations. First is a mummy jar for a candle or goodies....or whatever!
I took strips of cheesecloth and mod podged them onto the jar. I glued on googly eyes and there it is! So easy!

I bought the supplies for this last year and never got around to making it. I finally put it together this weekend, with plenty of time to spare before Halloween! I took a cauldron and filled the bottom with crumpled newspaper. I covered a metal pie plate with foam that is used to fill cracks. While it was wet I stuck various spooky things into it and left it to dry. After a couple of hours I painted the foam, which was orignally a cream colour, a sickly green colour. This was tricky since I had to get into the grooves and around the spooky things. It took awhile to complete the paint but it was worth it!

I got the eyes, ants, spiders, and worms at Dollarama. I love how it turned out and now I have a fun centerpiece for my Halloween party!

Creative Days!!!

I made this card and the Christmas layout today. I had the creative spirit in me and zipped these two projects off in no time- which is what I have these days, no time. My son is on the no sleep schedule again. That leaves me with very little "me" time.

I used the Bella Blvd. Christmas line to make both the card and the layout. I added some stickles to the card and a little bow.
I punched circles from different papers and cardstock for this layout and then added stickers with pop dots. The picture is of my most photogenic cat, Hobbes. He always looks so handsome in photos!

I made this layout using the new Doodlebug fall line. I copied this layout from the one I made a few weeks back which was scraplifted from the Doodlebug blog. This time I mixed the colours throughout the circle, rather than make four the coloured segments.
I used the title from last year's fall line and the quote is from the rub-on collection that came out a number of years ago. How cute are the new epoxy shapes??!!!! I also used washi tape at the bottom. I just love the colours!!!

Fall is definitely here now. I think I heard snow for this weekend......eeks! Hopefully not the kind that stays.....
