Happy New Year's Eve! I made this layout yesturday using Echo Park's Paradise Beach paper line. It is an older line that I never used. My goal last year was to start using all my products that I have been hoarding. I think I did pretty good- I made piles of layouts and cards. So my New Year's Scrapping resolution will be to continue with that theme- use, use, use! The problem of course is that I buy, buy, buy more!!! I know I have way too much but I am not great with letting go of the old. I figure one day I will find a use for it all......
So my goal will be to continue using as much older stuff as I can. I wonder what people do with product that is half used and not in style......maybe I should let the kids at school use it for crafts.
This is one sweet memory from last summer.....remember the summer and the sun!!! Now that Christmas is over I wait anxiously for warmer weather. If we could just have winter for December I would be happy! I need a white Christmas but then I am done. My layout was so simple. I cut the designs from another piece of paper. I added some stickers with pop dots. Honestly I was kind of stumped with this layout. Sometimes it is just like that. Oh well.
Cheers for a crafty 2015!!!

Fa La La La La
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!! I have been absent from my blog due to the usual Christmas madness. I was sewing pillows and then aprons and then wrapping and shopping and then Christmas-ing. Phew- now I can breath again!!!
I made this layout today using my holiday card that I sent to friends and family. I used Echo Park's Home for the Holidays.
I need to develop all my photos from Christmas so I can scrap them- I may even have enough to make a December daily album. At least I tried to take a picture every day. As usual, no time for the daily recording in an album but maybe I will get something done!

Hope, Peace, and Joy!
Up first is a tag I made using Doodlebug. Very simple- just added a snowman and a fancy frill border.
Below is a Jillibean Holly Berry Borscht card I made. I used the Pea Pod parts and the paper.
It is the last week of panic before Christmas......I never feel ready, no matter how early I start.

Just a card to share today- I am beat because I was working again tonight so nothing creative happened today! I used Doodlebug squares and twine to make this cute card. I added stickles and bling to some of the pictures. I am taking my son to see Santa tomorrow......will he melt down or be a happy camper.....the pictures will tell!!!

A Wee Christmas Card

Christmas is coming.....
So I made 3 cards today that have the easy factor. I had leftover squares from the advent calender and I wanted to use them up since they were cut and here you have it- two cute cards! Below is a style I got from the Doodlebug blog. I was looking for cards that could be mailed and if the recipient threw it out, I would not be wasting my precious supplies. So I have not put much extra into these cards but I think they are still really nice.
I pop dotted the cute cut below but other than that it is just a basic card, ready to mail!
Just over 2 weeks until the big day! I need to get these cards in the mail.....

Finally Finished!!!
So I have been showing little previews of this baby and I am happy to say I am done! Finally!!!
I used Doodlebug Christmas products to embellish this paper mache calender I bought at Hobby Lobby. I like it because the boxes are a bit bigger so I was able to put toys inside.
I just got my Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine and saw that there is an advent calender using Doodlebug in there as well. I did not copy that one.....just in case anyone out there thinks I stole the idea. But I will say that this paper, specifically the one with all the squares lent itself to making an advent calender quite nicely.
Just a note about the process.....I painted this with white acrylic paint, then mod podged it with extreme glitter podge, then sprayed it with an acrylic sealer so the podge would not be sticky- hence the reason it took so long!
And here is a view of a little surprise that my son will find in his boxes each day!
We picked out our tree today and thankfully it was not bitter cold- for once!!!

Christmas Projects
Here is a not so helpful finish to my pillows. I forgot to take pictures of the first seam being sewn. Basically, you sew right around the edge of the pillow square. Turn right side out and sew again about 2 inches inwards.
This will leave you with an opening to insert the pillow and a ruffle edge on the finished product.
This is really so easy to make and a great gift for the campers, travellers, or youngsters on your list. The best part is finding the cutest fabrics to make these pillows with!
I got the bright idea of making my son a felt Christmas tree that he can decorate and explore. I put some velcro on my shapes so it sticks a little better to the tree. I am not done making ornaments but thought I would show you this idea. Christmas fun for little hands!
Here is a little peak at my advent calender that is taking forever to make!!!!
I am using Doodlebug Christmas papers and embellishments to make this project. So far, so cute! I need the numbers yet and a final coat of protective spray. Hmmmmmm......it is only Dec. 4th- I still have time right.....

Oh Deer!
My apologies for a much delayed post! I swear, December approaches and it is a firestorm of activity.....I have been working like a mad woman on my Christmas projects. Above is a very simple card I made using Fancy Pants' Christmas line.
Below you will find partial instructions to make pillows. I forgot to take the last couple of photos but I will post tomorrow to finish this up!
This is the half piece. I did a double fold for a seam and pressed it before sewing it. I did this on one side of both half pieces.
Next I laid the two half pieces on top of the full piece with the pattern facing inwards. I pinned them together at the edges and sewed around the whole pillow, about a half inch seam.

I am making 16x16 pillows with removable cases. I am kind of terrible for just amking things up so I apologize for not having measurements- I just eyeball my sewing work!!!!
I cut one piece of fabric to fit the pillow and have a seam allowance of about 2 inches.
I then cut two pieces of fabric that overlap each other and fit the one large piece in size.
Here they are with a sewn seam.
Next I laid the two half pieces on top of the full piece with the pattern facing inwards. I pinned them together at the edges and sewed around the whole pillow, about a half inch seam.
Once you have sewn around the whole pillow, flip the fabric right side out. Now Sew about 2 inches inwards all around the pillow again. What you will have is a pillow case with a nice edge. I will show pictures tomorrow of this part!
I am also going crazy trying to make this advent calendar for my son. It is Dec. 1st so I have missed the mark on this project but he really does not know the difference so I think I have time yet! I am using Doodlebug's Santa Express. Stay tuned for the finished glitz!
