Doodlebug Thank You Cards

My Grandma gave me a very touching Christmas gift so I wanted to send her a "Thank You" note to brighten her day. I made two cards that are basically the same but using different flowers. The paper is from Flower Box by Doodlebug and I layered the mini flowers from this same line using popdots. I also added a jewel to the centers. I also pop-dotted the sentiment sticker. Pretty simple and perfect for my Grandma!

Happy 2014!!!!

I am back from a crazy busy Christmas! Between dinners and shopping and all the Christmas stuff, I had no time to do anything creative.......until this weekend that is. I am going back in time today to show you Halloween and Fall Doodlebug layouts! Better late than never! My son was a little green monster for Halloween and even though he is too young for candy we still went to a few houses to say Happy Halloween!

I used all Doodlebug products, including washi tape, pixies, This & That stickers and paper, of course!

My next layout was also strictly Doodlebug products from the fall line. I used sprinkles, doodlepops, stickers, fancy frills, and This & That stickers. I love this picture! My son puts EVERYTHING in his mouth so he is really getting a taste for his world! I miss being able to walk in the park- it is -30 and more with a windchill here. Can you say BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

                                                           Some close up views!

Check out the Doodlebug website for their CHA reveals- SOOOOOO cute! I cannot wait!
Hope 2014 is a very crafty year with lots of happiness for all!

Merry First Christmas!!!

It will be the first Christmas for my son and I am so excited to share my traditions with him. I made him a stocking and that was always the best part of Christmas for me growing up so I hope he will love it as much as I did! We took our family pictures with him in a santa hat- too darn cute!!!!
I made this layout using mostly Holiday Style by October Afternoon, which I am in love with this year! The background paper is by Imaginisce from this year's Christmas line. The letters are from Basic Grey (Papyrus).

The cards are mailed, the baking is done, the gifts are bought.....now, time to wrap! I don't think I will be creating before Christmas so I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas spent with those who matter most! If I am lucky, I will be blogging again before the New Year. Cheers!

Doodlebug Christmas Cards 2013

Doodlebug products are downright my favorite! I love the colours and the whimsical characters in the lines. The best part is that you can mix and match lines because the colour palette stays the same year to year. I added some bling, stickles, and twine to the cards. I also pop-dotted elements to add dimension. The final Christmas countdown is on.......one more week!

More Christmas Ideas!

I have not posted in a bit but I am still working hard on my Christmas crafts! I made this ornament which might be my yearly ornament for this Christmas- IF I can make more in time! Thanks to my Xyron and strips of paper I covered a paper mache ball. Then I sprayed it with glitter mist and added the decor.

I was fooling around with washi tape last night and made this simple little card using Doodlebug- my fav!

Here is the last card I made using October Afternoon paper. Again stickles were used and the sentiment is chipboard. How can you tell I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that blue snowflake paper!!!

Well, it is officially less than 2 weeks until the big day...........EEEEKKS!

Holiday Style Christmas Cards

I said I was on a roll and here I am with 2 more cards! Yahoo! With Christmas only 3 weeks away it is time to motor on these cards!!! I used October Afternoon to make these two cards. I really liked the sheet with all the pictures and words since they can be cut apart to make quick and easy cards. By adding some pearls, stickles, and a bow, I've got a pretty cute card! Pop dotting elements helps to give dimension and interest. The Scrapbook & Cards Today blog has the cutest project idea by Virginia Nebel posted today. I am hoping I can try it out this week.....we shall see if time is on my side!

More Christmas Cards!

Ok, so here are two more cards made with my old stash of papers. I started going thru my bins and I really need to use my supplies! They just keep coming out with the cutest papers- almost too cute to use! But I am determined to make use of some of these older lines to make room for the new. Above is Echo Park and below is October Afternoon, both from last year. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the pine branches and added some stickles. Below I added some pearls and some stickles, plus I pop dotted the snowman. I feel like I might be on a roll! Yahoo!

Doodlebug Christmas Cards 2013

I managed to squeek these two cards out today between 30 minute naps! I do not know what I will do with myself when my son actually sleeps....knowing my luck, it will never happen! Oh well, I do manage to make a few things here and there. I used the new Doodlebug Christmas collection for these two cards. I added stickles to both cards and pearls. I also used washi tape on both cards. I saw a sign that said 26 days until Christmas...does that give anyone the chills???? Oh boy, time is flying by! I started putting up the Christmas decor and Christmas carols are on the radio now so it is coming, ready or not!!!!

Together - With So Much Colour!

It took me 3 days to make this layout- good grief! I am still not sure it is complete but I figure I can always change things later. I have been making things- stockings! I am making my son stockings for his first Christmas. He will have one here and at his Grandma's and Grandpa's. I have made a total of 2 Christmas cards and I cannot believe that next weekend is December.......oh dear, I can feel the panic starting to come! Somehow I manage to get it all done but this year with a little one, I just do not know how I will fit it all in. It is so hard to shop with him and he demands my attention for most of the day so when will I get to make cards, wrap, bake etc. etc. I have no idea......a Christmas Miracle!!!
I used Bella Blvd. Washi Tape on this layout. The stickers are also Bella. The epoxy dots are My Minds Eye. The paper was Carta Bella Christmas paper from last year.

My cat, Taz, always seems to be in my way when I take a photo of my layouts- he is so cute!

By the way, we have snow already and it is super cold so for sure Christmas is on its way!!!

Yearly Christmas Card???

Sorry I have been absent from my blog for so long! I have been playing around with ideas for my yearly Christmas card and had a REALLY tough time putting something together. I bought some of the new Memory Box dies and was trying to come up with ideas. My glitter paper does not seem to work with the dies because the back of the paper is too waxy. So that was making me mad since I wasted a bunch of paper trying to make it work! The snowflakes were done with glitter Doodlebug paper which works best, as far as I have found. I cannot even say where these papers came from- just random stuff in my boxes of Christmas paper....I really need to wittle down my stash!

The goal of my yearly Christmas card is one that is fairly easy to replicate many times and it has to be one that I would not be absolutely heart broken if someone threw out....although I think I would still be sad and just prefer not to know if anyone does! A little side note- I have kept almost every card I have ever received!!! Yes, I have a BIG box of cards!!

So this could be my yearly card..or not, I am still playing! Hopefully I will be back to more regular posting as the Christmas season approaches!
