You Colour My World Layout

I am in love with circles lately! I find myself reaching for my circle punches alot. Especially for this colourful layout I made of me and my darling hubby. I used Doodlebug's Kraft in Color line with a splash of sprinkles, vellum, and petite prints. The title is from a variety of Doodlebug letter stickers. I was going to use sequins but they did not have enough pop for me so I used sprinkles instead. I had intentions of stitching some of the circles but I guess I am just lazy.....too much work to pull out the sewing machine, thread it, and get it done.....I have limited time when my little one naps so no stitiching!!! But I still think it looks good. I could have faux stitched too- maybe later. Have a colourful day!

At The Beach

Holidays are over and it is back to the daily routine! We had a very busy two weeks enjoying all that is summer. My son had his first camping trip, and I mean real camping in a tent. We had to buy a new tent so his portable crib would fit but I think we would have had to do that anyway, since our tent was pretty small. He was very excited but quickly got used to it and had some awesme 3 hour naps!!! This layout captures just how much fun he had at the beach playing in the sand. We lucked out and had gorgeous weather too.

I used Echo Park for this layout. I mixed lines but they were all the summer lines from over the years. I made clouds using scalloped circle vellum. Funny how pie charts have become very popular and this line had them on a piece of paper which I think was from 2 or 3 years ago.

I just want to finish by saying NEVER buy a little boy a bathing suit with white in it......you should see the colour of this suit now- it is DISGUSTING looking!!!! I almost want to buy a new one but since summer is almost over he might just have to keep wearing it........

Stay-cation Time!!!

My husband is off for 2 weeks and we are having a stay-cation this summer. We have been camping, swimming, splash parking, shopping, and just having fun in general. We plan to check out our new zoo exhibit Journey to Churchill next week and head back to the lake for more beach time!
All of that explains why I have been absent for a bit here on my blog. Too busy! I am posting two cards I made in the very little spare time I have had. First is a thank you card for my mom. I used old Echo Park summer paper for this card. Below is an Angry Birds card I made for my nephew who is turning 3 and loves Angry Birds. I cut the card by hand and despite my picture being a bit blurry (oops!), I think it turned out pretty good. I am sure he will like it.

And for good measure I thought I would throw in a picture of me on the boat! Summer is here and the weather has been perfect for our holidays! Yay Summer!!!!!

SUMMER!

Summer is here although it is on and off and on and off again! This layout was made using Echo Park's Summer Bliss line. The sun and cloud chipboard is from Bella Blvd. The date tab is from Bo Bunny's Lemonade Stand.

We are heading into another spell of rainy, cool weather so summer is taking a break for the weekend- AGAIN!! Next week is supposed to be nice so now that we have our pool going, it sure will be nice to have the weather to go with it! Have a happy weekend!!

2 Layouts and a Card

My computer has been acting up again- big surprise! So although I have been creating, I have not been able to post. So here are three projects to start this week....

First up is a pocket page I did using Doodlebug's Hip Hip Horray line. I did a close up of each pocket below. My mom made his cake to match this line of paper- can you say true scrappers!

Yes, the 1 is backwards......oh well, it still looks pretty awesome!

My happy lil' guy trying cake for the first time! He enjoyed it but I don't think he has developed the true sweet tooth yet. He is a fruit and veggie guy, at least for now.

Here is a very simple card I made for friends who bought my son a gift all the way from Vegas! I hate to make super detailed cards for people that may throw them out so something like this will not break my heart too badly...although I hate the idea of anyone throwing out my cards!!!

I am madly in love with this layout! I just adore how it turned out and I misted it, taking a risk for me, and I think it looks awesome! I started with a white cardstock base. I layered some paper from Party with Amy Locurto from Pebbles. The title is Doodlebug, as are the sprinkles. When I had the photo and embellishments adhered, it just felt like it was too white so I took a chance and misted it with yellow glitter ink from Smooch. I love how it looks like sun rays....and that was not even planned!
I LOVE the bright colours......Perfect summer layout!!!

A closer look at the ink.....

Happy Tuesday!

Baby Layout

I departed from the birthday theme and made this layout of my snuggle bug sleeping. I used Carta Bella's Baby Mine line. The embellishments are all chipboard from this line and I placed them in a visual triangle to draw the eye into the middle.

 A closer look.....
Enjoying watermelon on a hot, hot day......is there anything better??? Yay SUMMER!!!!

Celebrate Card

I am back today with more Jillibean Soup! I made this card on the weekend and was too busy to post it. I used Birthday Bisque again. I am really happy with how this card turned out. It took me longer than usual to find the right embellishments and where to place them.

Have you seen the sneak peaks from Bella Blvd. and Doodlebug???? All I can say is AWESOME!!
I cannot wait!!! Check out their blogs if you have not already....

Birthday Girl Card

Here is a cute card I made using Jillibean Soup's Birthday Bisque line. I am still creating with this line so stay tuned for more next week. I am on a mission to stock up on birthday cards and I may even throw in a layout....

I added some Doodle twine and sprinkles to the card and I also stickled the Girl letters. I cut the speech bubbles out from the patterned paper and pop dotted them.

Have a sunny weekend!

Manly Birthday Cards

Something wierd is going on with my pictures in my computer. They are not being saved in the right place. Why is there always something wrong with this silly computer!!!!

The top card was made for my brother-in-law for his 40th birthday. I used Fancy Pants' Swagger line and the sentiment is from Jillibean Soup. I made faux stitching around the circles too.

Below is a birthday card for my Grandfather, a little late though. I used Jillibean Soup's birthday line that came out in the spring. I had not even touched it yet and really needed to break into it and get creating. I sorted my cards and realized I am really, really short on birthday cards. That will be my focus for the next while to build my stock! Plus I have so many summer birthdays coming up so I need to get on it!

Spring!

I made this layout of my son using the spring line from Doodlebug. It was a rainy day on the farm and I loved the pictures of my son playing in the puddles and muck. What a true boy he is!!! The tag with showers printed on it pulls up to reveal journaling, which I have not done yet.

Next up is a card I made for my niece for her birthday. Again, I used Doodlebug. I made this into a shaker card by using popdots and a transparency film over a sticker and some sequins. I love the result- so fun!
