Sympathy Card

I got some sad news yesturday that a long time friend experienced a death in the family. I made this sympathy card this morning to send. I used new Crate Paper called Pretty Party: Streamers and Story Teller: Journey. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink from ColorBox. I used two pieces of ribbon at the top from my collection of random pieces and I added a button with some twine. The white flowers are from Petaloo. I used a border punch on the orange paper and you cannot see it in the photo but I distressed the edges on the yellow paper. Life is full of so many hills and valleys. It is a reminder to live every day to the fullest and never take a single moment for granted.

Cats Rule!!!!

Ok, it has been awhile and all I can say is that this weather is WAY too nice to be sittin' in my scrap room! This morning my scrapping kitty Tao found her way into a bag and of course looked so cute I had to take a picture!

I made this card quickly and it might just be the most plain card I have ever made! I thought I would post it because sometimes simple is elegant ..... maybe........?

It was my birthday recently and I thought I would post a card I got from my mom, who is a scrapbooking "newbie"! I got her hooked on this wonderful hobby and she is as addicted as I am! She also loves Doodlebug which she used here on this card.

And I also got this handmade card from my hubby but do you think he made it.......nope! He stole it from my card stash in my scraproom! I used Fancy Pants paper for this card. I also added stickles on the balloons.

Canada Day is around the corner and the forecast for this week is sun, sun, and more sun with a large amount of humidity! Keep cool everyone! (Literally :)

Part 2: Christmas Doodlebug in June

Here is my second installment of Christmas cards using the Cute Cuts and Cut Outs from the collection Santa's Helper by Doodlebug. For this first card I added bling, rub-ons, Stickles and a santa sticker which I pop dotted.

For this card I used a Christmas tree Doodlepop on the tag which already came with bling and sparkle. I used Christmas Doodletwine around the bottom. I added stickles to Santa's hat and body and I glued a white pom-pom on his hat.

For my final card today, I used a candy cane sticker to cover the candy cane that was on the cut out to add some dimension. I glued on google eyes and a red pom-pom on the elf's hat. I used red Doodletwine across the top. All 3 cards were made with paper was from the Doodlebug Christmas line. I usually give out 25 Christmas cards so now I have 6 done- 19 more to go!!!

What??? Doodlebug Christmas in June!!!!

Okay fellow Doodlebug fans....today I am sharing some Christmas inspiration and I have no idea what got me thinking Christmas at this time of year! I was going through my Doodlebug bin and was reminded that I had wanted to make Christmas cards with the sheet of Cut Outs and Cute Cuts from Santa's Collection. So here are my first 3 cards! My goal is to use all of the cut outs on the sheet to make cards. I pop dotted the tag and the train and I fussy cut a white border around the sentiment tag.

For this card I added the present sticker and pop dotted it. I used a cute cut and pop dotted that as well. Basic white cardstock is my card base.

I added two snowflake brads that I got from Hobby Lobby. I used a white gel pen from Sakura to make the dashes. I pop dotted the sentiment tag and I stickled the snowflakes and the snowman.

I know it is early and I really hope it does not snow....(it has happened before in June here!) but at least I will be ready come December!

More Cutie Cards

So I was a little busy this weekend but had just enough time to make a few quick cards. I made a second Father's Day card keeping with a similar format as the first one but I changed the papers to Echo Park's Little Boy line. Even though it is called Little Boy I think it worked for a manly card. I used a chestnut ink for the title and the edges this time.

I needed a quick Get Well card this weekend for my mother in law who had surgery on her foot. Leave it to my husband to ask me for cards at the very last possible minute! Doodlebug is my favorite and the Cute Cut made it easy to put this card together fast! All the paper is Doodlebug- love the colours! I also used the new teensy print letter stickers for the title and I used the pearls on the flowers. Pretty simple yet very cute card!

Basic Grey Plumeria

I needed a card for my Grandma's birthday and I quickly whipped up this card using Plumeria by Basic Grey. The colours in this line are so pretty and soft which I found perfect for my Grandma. I used a rub-on by Pebbles Inc. on the chipboard accent. I also added pearls to the butterflies and the flower. Here's to a sunny hot week!!!

Father's Day Inspiration

Father's Day is approaching quickly! Can you believe it is June already? Time to start thinking about all those summer events and activities. I am going to need a few Father's Day cards this year so I whipped up this fairly simple, masculine card. I find it difficult to make cards for men. I guess I am drawn to girly papers and embellishments!

I used Echo Park's This & That line to make this card. The dotted paper is Bazzill from Two Scoops and I sanded it. I also inked all the edges with a green moss colour from ColorBox. The button was a random one from my collection of buttons. The twine is from Karen Foster. I stamped the sentiment in the same moss green ink as the edges.
