Happy Easter Treats

I am loving this long weekend! It is so nice to have an extra break and 3 dinners to boot! I made these cute carrot treat bags for our nieces and nephews as a special Easter treat. I filled the carrots with chocolates and eggs. It is a very easy project to create. I cut 12x12 orange cardstock into 6x6 squares. I rolled the square into a tube and attached the ends with tape. I folded in the bottom and glued it together. I put in the chocolates and then sealed the top, adding green fringed paper as I sealed it. The top and bottom are sealed in opposite directions so that the top has a flat side with a pointy bottom. I used Martha Stewart fringe scissors to make the fringe. Handy tool!

I used Bella Blvd's Spring Flings and Easter Things to add an Easter picture to my tag. I also curled some of the fringe with a pencil. Pretty simple but since the kids will be ripping them open I did not want to get too fancy. You could certainly dress them up for dinner favors and add more embellishments.
Here is my Easter centerpiece- aren't tulips such a happy spring flower!!! I filled a round vase with plastic eggs. The tulips are in a smaller vase in the middle of the round vase. Happy Easter and happy feasting at those family dinners!

Doodlebug Birthday Happiness!

I am SOOOOO happy to have the new Doodlebug lines! They are bright and colourful and perfect for my style of scrapping! I made two birthday cards today using the new lines Fruit Stand and Flower Box. Above, the sentiment is from Take Note and I also used Doodletwine and a flower sticker from the Nifty Notions line. Below I used a Doodle pearl for the center of the flower. Now that I have my goodies organized, I am ready to create some wonderful things with these new lines from Doodlebug- so excited! Happy Easter everyone!

Jillibean Easter Card

Just a quick, cute little card to share today using Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup from Jillibean. I pop dotted the chickens, the joke, and the green scalloped border. I punched a white paper circle to put beneath the green to give the chick more contrast. The blue paper is Doodlebug.

Catchin' some rays of sun........ah, a cat's life is grand!!!

My Sunshine, Taz

I was looking through old photo albums last night and I cannot believe how much our family has changed! I found this picture of my big boy Taz when he was quite a bit smaller. We used to have a gorgeous big tree in our backyard and he used to climb it and get stuck. This picture reminds me of his kitten days when he was so adventurous and a complete trouble maker!

I used mostly Bella Blvd. products on this layout with the exception of one Jillibean Soup paper which is the pink one. I used the lines Sunny Skies, Spring Flings and Easter Things, Family Dynamix, and Sunshine & Happiness. The buttons are also Bella and so is the title. I also used Bella Ciao Chipboard and a flag. I punched a border on the white paper using my border punch by EK Success. I used Doodlebug twine in the button holes. Always a little something Doodlebug!

I have to keep thinking spring thoughts to keep my mind off the huge dumping of snow we got again. I was outside this morning taking pictures for the records and the snow in one part of the yard was thigh deep! It is so wierd to think last year was +24 and this year, same time, it is -24. Oh well, spring has to come sometime right!!???

Our little shed is almost completely buried in snow!!!!! The window to my scraproom is totally blacked out by snow as well. Like I said, one for the books!

Rainbows

I needed some colour today to combat the 20 cm of snow we just got hammered with! Spring is so not coming our way! At least not any time soon. So here is a little card to lighten the wintery mood. I used Washi tape in a variety of colours from Queen & Co. and the pink one was Doodlebug Washi tape. I used circle punches on Doodlebug paper and added a rainbow Doodlepop. Wishing for those rainbows in the sky......

A Slice of Summer!

Despite the snowstorm outside, I was feeling a little "beachy" today. In 2006 I went to Thailand and was lucky enough to be able to travel around for 4 months. The beaches were so beautiful, especially in Ko Phi Phi. This picture was taken at Long Beach and was my favorite place in all of Thailand. It was hit pretty hard by the Tsunami and even a year later when I was there, damage could still be seen. Right about now I could use some Thailand heat and humidity- another 20 cm of snow for us here and it is March, which is just downright unfair!

I used Fancy Pants for this layout and the line was called Beach Babe. I used the papers, cut outs, chipboard, and stickers. I used my binder border punch from EK Success. The orange tag is not Fancy Pants but I am not sure where I got it from!

I also made a cute summer card using Bella Blvd.'s Sunshine & Happiness. Can't wait to get my hands on Bella's new beach line!

Here is wishing summer would come quickly.....I miss those hot sunny days!

Easter Wishes!

I don't usually make Easter cards but I was inspired by these Doodlebug stickers! This line came out last spring and it is called Spring Parade. I pop dotted the rabbit sticker and punched squares from Doodlebug paper. I added Doodle Twine at the top. The Easter sentiment is from an older sticker sheet called Bunny Hop. Hard to believe Easter is around the corner, especially since we still have SO much snow!

Sea Life Layout with Doodlebug!

I just adore Doodlebug products and I have a ton of stuff from much older lines that, I admit, I purchased solely based on the cuteness factor! This line called Seaside is from 2009 and I am only using it now! I guess that is why I can't get rid of my stuff because you never know when it will come in handy!

I used all products from Doodlebug on this layout with the exception of the purple cardstock. I used Fancy Frills and Icon stickers from this line. The fish are just so cute!

I even included my own written journaling, which I did in purple with a Sharpie marker. I used a binder border punch from EK Success on the blue paper.

Oh Summer Layout

This was one of my favorite pictures I took last summer. To me, being at the lake camping is the definition of a Manitoba summer! Seagulls are usually at the beach looking for scraps and are part of the whole beach experience. We have cold winters for sure but our summers are usually super and make up for all the cold and snow we have for 6 months of the year!

I used many different products on this layout. The background paper was from Pebbles: Party. The cloud/hexagon paper is from Studio Calico. The tiny heart paper is from Pebbles: Seen and Noted and the light blue paper under the cloud paper is from Echo Park. I used black Bazzill cardstock to mat my picture. The chipboard elements are from Bella Blvd. I used border punches from EK Success. The title is American Crafts Thickers. I also added some ink splotches from Smooches Spritz in dark blue.

Doodlebug Cards

How cute is this elephant!!!!! It is from an old sticker sheet called Jungle by Doodlebug. I also used the birthday girl line from Doodlebug. I added some twine to the balloon and I also pop dotted it.

This card was made using the spring collection from Doodlebug that was released last year. I added some twine to make a flight trail and I pop dotted the wings to make it stand out. The rub-on sentiment is also Doodlebug.

Now I think I need an afternoon nap! I am so tired these days. Back tomorrow!

Card Caboodle

Man oh man, it was like pulling teeth for me today trying to create something that I was really happy with! I did manage to make 4 cards so that is something! My first card was made using Echo Park's Country Drive line of papers and stickers. I pop dotted the butterfly and punched a border on the green tag, which I made myself.

My second card came to me as a random thought as I was looking at my Doodlebug stickers. It is all Doodlebug and the stickers are from the Home Sweet Home line that came out a few years ago.
I pop dotted the smaller blue cloud.

My next 2 cards are the same but one is for a boy and one is for a girl. I used Bella Blvd. baby paper and cut outs. The little birdie stickers are Doodlebug. The sentiment is a rub-on from Pebbles Inc. The twine is American crafts. I used martha Stewart fringe scissors on the green paper. I cut the ends off tooth picks for the clothespins.

Kind of a mixed bag of ideas again! I am thankful that I somehow managed to create something since I must have stared at my paper bins for ages before I came up with a single idea. I am anxiously waiting for the new Doodlebug lines- I just know I will find inspiration with those new products!!!!

Bo Bunny Birthday

Whew, what a bad week for creating.....I just had no inspriation or motivation! It might have something to do with being almost 8 months pregnant and SOOOOOO tired!

I did manage to create this simple card this morning using new products from Bo Bunny. They came out with this very cute and colourful birthday line. I cut a cake to layer on top of the cake that was on the tag for dimension. I also pop dotted the big banner and layered it on yellow paper. The stars are chipboard. I also stickled the candle flames and the dots on the cake for some sparkle!

I hope I can find some creative mojo soon- maybe now that the weather is warming up I will get the creative juices flowing again!
