Bundle of Joy!!!!!

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on May 19th. Here are 2 layouts I made before he was born. I may not be posting regularly since my hands are a little full! I have to figure out how I am going to do all the mom things when my husband goes back to work so I am not sure where scrapbooking will fit in since I am thinking sleep might be a is an adventure!

My first layout was made using the Echo Park line for baby boy called Bundle of Joy.

My second layout was made using Bella Blvd.'s We Are Expecting.

Bright Sunny Cards for a Rainy Day!

Here is a cute card made with Doodlebug's Fruit Stand line. I used paper from the 6x6 paper pad which is perfect for cards since the size of the print is scaled down. I added the banners from the frills stickers sheet and a sentiment from the This & That stickers. I added 2 pearls and pop dotted it. I also added doodletwine and a scalloped border sticker between the two pattern papers.

*** A neat trick to make your own pop dots without the expense: buy foam with an adhesive side and then cut out the foam to suit your needs and run it through the Xyron machine to make the other side sticky too!

I made this card using the Pebbles line called Party With Amy Locurto. The button is from Basic Grey and the pearls are Doodlebug. I also stickled the bodies of the butterflies.

I used my Cricut machine and the cartridge Create a Critter to make this card. I used a scallop Nestibility and my Cuttlebug machine to make the card base. I just used scraps of cardstock for the paper. I need to send some thank you cards so I have made a few of these to get started.

Sketch Challenge and another for Fun!

I had a wonderfully creative day today. I made this top layout for fun- not finished yet as I am not sure what photos I will add. I was in reverse mode today since I usually start a layout with pictures in mind but since I was scraplifting a layout from Kelly Goree I started with paper. I used My Minds Eye paper (Fine and Dandy) that I really like but have not used since I bought it a few years ago already!

This is my layout for Becky Fleck's Sketch challenge from her blog. I have had this watermelon paper set aside and have been wanting to use it forever! I have tried more than once to come up with a layout using it and today something clicked! The paper is Watermelon Gazpacho Soup by Jillibean Soup. I am not sure where I got the paper from but I did not buy the whole line and had to combine new and old together to get a finished product. The background red paper is from Pebbles basics. The strip in the middle is the bottom of the Pebbles paper- I love how they make that tear off strip re-usable by having a design on one smart!

I used cut outs from the Fresh Vegetables Soup line (sun and clouds). I used a tag from the Coconut Lime Soup line. The sentiment is a rub-on from Daisy Bucket. The little word stickers are also Jillibean Soup from the sticker sheet Blossom Soup.
I used a black Sharpie pen to make faux stitching around my layout. I also matted my photo with black cardstock.

Here is the sketch from Becky Fleck's Blog that I used for my inspiration!

This Is Me!

I was very inspired by the layouts on the Bella Blvd. Blog posted on National Scrapbooking Day. I decided to create a layout of my own that reflects who I am right now. First of all, I do not really have any current pictures of myself alone so I used my teacher picture from this year at school. I liked the layout by Becky Williams and decided to use it for my inspiration on this layout all about me. The whole layout was made absolute favorite.......Doodlebug, of course!!! I used the Take Note line. Oh, how I LOVE the colours!!!!

I used quite a few of the stickers from the This & That Sheet. I also used Washi tape, mini doodle pops, fancy frill stickers, Jack & Jill letters, Teensy Type letters, and a 4x6 paper from the Simply Put album inserts that I cut into a smaller size.

I have made it my new mission to scrapbook myself more and include more information/stories about me in my layouts. I am trying very hard to get over the look of my journaling- still not a fan, but it is a part of me and who I am so that is a work in progress.

With all the products for Project Life and the trends towards scrapping everyday life, it is easier than ever to create simple layouts showcasing oneself- give it a try! Years from now it will be very cool to reflect back!

Butterfly Card

I was going through my basket of scraps and came up with this card using a mix of left over papers. I embosssed the white cardstock with my Cuttlebug. I used an EK Success layered butterfly punch to make all the butterflies. The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup. This is something I need to do more often- look for scraps rather than cut new pieces of paper.

Baby Boy Card

Happy Belated National Scrapbooking Day everyone! Did you check out the blogs that were celebrating- SOOOOO much inspiration!!! I made this card for my step-sister who just had a baby boy. I used Bella Blvd.'s Baby Boy line. Not a complicated card but I did use a little gadget behind the chipboard monkey to make him bounce. I also stickled the heart on the monkey but it does not show up in this photo.

It is so nice outside that I had to take advantage of the sun and get some work done in the yard- which, by the way, is quite the task when you are 39 weeks pregnant!!! I am not quite sure how I am going to plant my garden. It may be me directing my husband where to put the seeds. I sure hope this weather sticks around now!

Butterfly Card

I actually managed to make something today! I have been SOOOO tired- everytime I sit down in my craft room I get so sleepy I can barely keep my eyes open. It took until 5:00 today until I actually got some creative energy going! And if I do say so myself, I made a very pretty card! I used the Pink Paislee line called Cottage Farms. I added a doily that I got at Crop & Create and some Maya Road tulle ribbon swirled into a circle with a Prima butterfly on top. Then I added some Prima bling behind the butterfly. I also sanded the edges of the card to go with the soft vintage feel. Only one more week of this pregnancy thing.....then it is no sleep because of a baby!
